First Week of Graduate School

Graduate school has been great so far! It's very busy already, but I'm having a lot of fun! It's great having a space of my own where I can do my work. All of the other grad students and instructors are really nice, and easy to get along with. I also met a few of the other grad students in the art program at several functions that have been going on for the past week. I think I'm going to like it here!

I'm taking mostly metals classes, as well as an enameling class, but I'm also taking a 3 week sculpture class where I'm learning wood working and welding. I haven't managed to get much metalwork done yet, but I'm working right now on a pair of plique-a-jour earrings. I love enameling!

They are not fired yet in this picture, but this is more or less what they will look like.

Some pretty lights I saw in a walkway on campus

I also want to announce another exhibition coming up. It is the 4th Annual Arizona Designer Craftsmen Exhibition that will be held at the Harry Wood Gallery on ASU campus. The opening reception is Tuesday, Sept. 7th from 6-8 pm. I will have a piece in the show, along with many talented artists.
